Chris Milillo Drum Studio

With over 25 years of experience as a drum instructor (and over 30 as a performer), Chris Milillo employs a well-rounded, wide-ranging, and time-tested (yet ever-evolving and flexible) study method, for drum set and snare drum players. A central tenet of Chris' approach to playing and teaching is a sharp focus on achieving virtual effortlessness, both in the physical and mental realms, in order for any student to realize his or her full potential.

Lessons are tailored to the age, level, musical tastes, and specific goals of each individual student, while maintaining focus on the core skills necessary to achieve musical proficiency in a variety of styles.

Chris has extensive experience working with children, and trains many students who are now participating in school music programs. Over the years, Chris has helped prepare students to pass highly competitive auditions for limited percussion openings in school bands and for entry into college music programs. Private lessons assure students of progressing more rapidly than their peers who aren't studying privately.

Chris specializes in working with self-taught drummers who often seek to strengthen fundamentals, eliminate bad habits, learn the rudiments, expand their knowledge of rhythm and time, or learn to read notation.
